Aquatop Bonsai Tree Aquarium Ornament
Five sculpted bonsai trees from Aquatop, each with hand-finished bark, exposed root detail and a moss-look canopy. They are the easy way to get the aged, wind-shaped look of a real aquascape bonsai without sourcing driftwood, tying on moss and waiting a year for it to grow in. All five are non-toxic and rated by Aquatop for freshwater and saltwater alike. Browse the rest of our aquarium decor and hardscape.

The Five Trees
Ancient Pine Tree
The tallest of the set at 9.4 inches, with a sharply curved trunk and exposed, gnarled roots that look like they have weathered a few decades of wind. The open root structure leaves gaps for fish to move through rather than just hide behind.
Brazilian Tree
A twisting, wind-bent trunk growing out of a natural-look grey rock. The rock is the base, so it sits flat on the substrate with no anchoring or burying needed. Aquatop designed it to pair with Brazilian Tree 2.
Brazilian Tree 2
The companion piece. Same idea, its own rugged rock formation and a canopy shaped differently, so standing the two together reads as two trees on a ridge rather than one ornament duplicated.
Spreading Tree
Low and wide, with broad branches cascading out over the substrate like a bonsai that has been pruned flat for years. At 5.3 inches tall it fits a nano tank or the front of a bigger layout, and the wide branch spread throws plenty of shade for shrimp and small fish.
Forest Tree
Two trunks intertwined from one shared root base, each carrying its own canopy. The double trunk gives a depth that a single tree cannot, which makes it the one to pick if you want a single piece to carry the whole scape.
Shared Features
- Non-toxic, freshwater and saltwater. Aquatop rate every piece in the collection for both.
- Fade-resistant. Cast in a durable material that holds its color and shape, which matters for a green canopy sitting under aquarium lighting.
- Hand-finished bark texture and sculpted root detail, so it reads as wood up close rather than as molded plastic.
- Shelter built in. The root and branch structures create shaded hiding spots and things to explore for fish and shrimp.
- Wipes clean. Smooth surfaces, so a quick wipe at a water change is the whole maintenance routine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do they need weighting down?
The Brazilian Tree and Brazilian Tree 2 are molded onto rock bases and sit flat on their own. The other three have wide root bases that bed into substrate. None of them need anchoring hardware.
Is it safe in a reef tank?
Yes. Aquatop list the whole collection as non-toxic and safe for freshwater and saltwater.
Will the green canopy fade?
Aquatop build these from fade-resistant material. Keep in mind that nothing survives bleach, so clean them in tank water only.
Which one for a 10 gallon?
The Spreading Tree. At 5.3 inches tall it fits a small tank without filling it, and the low, wide shape suits a shallow footprint.
Can I use two together?
That is the idea behind the two Brazilian Trees, and the Spreading Tree is designed to layer in front of the taller pieces. Mixing styles is how you get depth.
