Multi-Stage Filtration

The Recife ECO uses a rear multi-stage filter box that keeps all filtration components hidden for a clean, unobstructed view. Water passes through a dense sponge block, then a series of media trays:

• Mechanical, chemical, and biological media across the trays for complete filtration.
• Premium carbon-infused media in the top tray removes discoloration, odors, and dissolved organics.
• Phosphate and nitrate removing media in the second tray pulls unwanted nutrients from the system.
• Biological media in the remaining trays gives beneficial bacteria a large surface area to break down ammonia and nitrite.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a complete reef system?
Yes. It includes the tank, a reef-ready LED, filtration media, a protein skimmer on most sizes, a return pump, and a matching cabinet stand. Just add saltwater, rock, and livestock.

Does the 25 Gallon Peninsula include a skimmer?
No. The 25 Gallon Peninsula does not include a protein skimmer, unlike the other sizes.

Where should I put a heater?
We do not recommend placing a heater in the return pump chamber, since that area can lose water first and expose the heater to air. Place it in the media box chamber instead. Heaters damaged by running dry are not covered under warranty.

What colors are available?
The Recife ECO is offered in black or gray, depending on the size.
