BlueLife Flux Rx
BlueLife Flux Rx is a reef-safe treatment that eliminates green hair algae and Bryopsis macroalgae from saltwater aquariums in a single 14-day course. Available in 100-gallon and 200-gallon packs, it is dosed once per treatment cycle and works in the background while you go about your normal reef-keeping routine. Browse all aquarium medications and our full saltwater supply collection.
Why Reefers Use Flux Rx
- Targeted on the worst algae. Bryopsis and green hair algae are notoriously hard to manually remove and tend to come back stronger. Flux Rx kills both at the cellular level.
- Reef-safe. Will not harm fish, corals, inverts, or beneficial bacteria when dosed correctly.
- One-shot treatment. Dose once and walk away. No daily additions, no constant tinkering.
- Saves your aquascape. No need to pull rock, scrub, or break down your tank.
How to Dose
- Remove macroalgae beforehand. If you run a refugium with chaetomorpha or other macroalgae, remove it before dosing. Flux Rx will kill it too.
- Stop carbon and GFO. Take any chemical filtration offline (activated carbon, GFO, Purigen) for the duration of treatment, since they will pull the medication out of the water.
- Leave the skimmer running. Unlike many treatments, the skimmer can stay on.
- Dose once. Pour the full packet into a high-flow area. Treat for 14 days minimum.
- Resume filtration on day 14. Run fresh carbon to clear residual medication, then perform a 20% water change.
- Wait 30 days before re-dosing if any algae remains.

FAQ
Will it kill my corals?
No. Flux Rx is safe for stony and soft corals, anemones, and clams. Sensitive species (Acropora, some Euphyllia) may show temporary polyp retraction, which clears once treatment ends.
What about cleanup crew and fish?
Snails, hermits, shrimp, urchins, and fish are unaffected at recommended doses.
Does it kill chaetomorpha or coralline?
It will kill chaeto and other refugium macroalgae. Coralline algae is not affected.
Why can I keep my skimmer on?
The active ingredient is not surface-active, so a protein skimmer does not pull it out the way carbon or GFO would.
What if the algae comes back?
It usually does not, but if any remains, wait 30 days, do a large water change, then re-dose.
