CaribSea Seaflor Fiji Pink Reef Sand 15 lb
Warm pink reef sand that supports your water chemistry. CaribSea Seaflor Fiji Pink is a dry aragonite reef sand that gives your saltwater aquarium a natural, warm pink bed while doing real work for water quality. Because it is 100% aragonite, it buffers pH toward natural seawater levels and slowly releases calcium and carbonates, and its smooth, reef-grade grains (about 0.5 to 1.5 mm) resist detritus buildup. It is screened free of ash, metals, pesticides, and silica, so it will not fuel nuisance algae. Rinse it, add it, and seed it with live sand or bacteria to cycle. Pair it with our saltwater essentials and live rock.
Why Seaflor Fiji Pink
- 100% aragonite buffers pH and releases calcium and carbonates for reef stability
- Warm, natural pink color for a bright, tropical-looking sand bed
- Reef-grade grain (about 0.5 to 1.5 mm) resists detritus and stays put in moderate flow
- Screened free of ash, metals, pesticides, and silica that can feed nuisance algae
- A dry sand, so it is more economical than live sand and easy to store
How to Use
- Use about 1 to 1.5 lb per gallon for a 1 to 2 inch bed, or more for a deeper sand bed.
- Rinse the sand in saltwater or RO/DI before adding to reduce initial cloudiness.
- Because it is dry, seed it with a scoop of live sand or a bacterial starter to cycle the tank.
- Set your rock on the glass first, then pour the sand around it so the structure stays stable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this live sand? No, it is dry aragonite reef sand. Seed it with a little live sand or a bacterial starter and let the tank cycle to make it biologically active.
How much do I need? Plan on roughly 1 to 1.5 lb per gallon for a 1 to 2 inch bed. A 15 lb bag suits a small tank or tops up a larger one.
Will it cloud my water? Rinse it before adding and any haze will settle within a day or two, especially with good filtration.
Can I use it in freshwater? It is designed for saltwater and reef tanks. Its pH buffering suits marine systems and African cichlid tanks, but not most planted or soft-water freshwater setups.
