JBJ C-Breeze Nano | Aquarium Cooling Fan, Up to 40 Gallons
The JBJ C-Breeze Nano is a quiet, low-profile clip-on cooling fan engineered to drop aquarium temperatures with simple, energy-efficient evaporative cooling. A wide-stream centrifugal blower moves air across the water surface, perfect for nano reefs, planted tanks, and any setup running hot under powerful LEDs. Mounts on rims up to 1/2" thick and works on both saltwater and freshwater aquariums.
Features
- Centrifugal blower — wide, focused airflow across the entire water surface
- Quiet operation — no rattle, no clatter, bedroom-friendly
- Low-profile rim mount tucks neatly out of sight
- Compact 12V DC operation, low ~5 W power draw
- Safe for freshwater and saltwater aquariums up to 40 gallons
How It Works
The C-Breeze Nano accelerates evaporation by blowing a steady stream of air across the water surface. As water evaporates, heat goes with it — typically lowering tank temps 2–4°F depending on room conditions and tank lid configuration. It's the simplest and most cost-effective way to keep a nano tank from overheating in summer without committing to a full chiller.
Heads-up: Faster evaporation means faster top-off. Pair with an auto top-off like the Tunze Osmolator 3 Nano or Red Sea Desktop ATO to keep salinity stable while the fan is running.

FAQ
How much will this lower my tank temperature?
In most rooms you can expect a drop of 2–4°F, with bigger gains in drier, air-conditioned rooms and smaller gains in humid environments. The best results come with the aquarium lid removed or partially opened so the moist air can escape.
Will it work on my 40-gallon reef?
Yes — 40 gallons is the upper end of this fan's recommended range. For larger tanks consider the standard JBJ C-Breeze (rated up to 75 gal) or a dedicated chiller.
Is it loud?
No. The centrifugal blower design is noticeably quieter than typical axial cooling fans and is well-suited to bedrooms and living rooms.
Do I need to monitor water level?
Yes. Cooling fans dramatically increase evaporation, which drops the water level and (in saltwater tanks) raises salinity. We strongly recommend running an auto top-off alongside the fan, especially on reef setups.
