Kessil AP9X
The Kessil AP9X is a flagship reef LED built around two of Kessil's signature Dense Matrix LED arrays, delivering deep, penetrating light with the shimmer and color rendition that made Kessil a favorite among reef keepers. Its Tuna Blue spectrum drives coral growth and fluorescence, while a full set of adjustable color channels and 395nm True UVA let you dial in the exact look and coral coloration you want. Control it from your phone over Wi-Fi with the Kessil app, or integrate it with K-Link and 0-10V systems. Browse our aquarium lighting and corals to build out your reef.

Spectrum & Control
In addition to Kessil's signature Tuna Blue spectrum, the AP9X adds a full range of individually adjustable color channels, red, green, and purple, that you fine-tune in the Kessil app. Kessil Logic ensures cosmetic color settings do not interfere with the core spectrum, so you can dial in a preferred look without disturbing coral health. The 395nm True UVA chips push fluorescence and coloration even further.
Coverage & Penetration
The dual-array design blankets your aquarium with up to 48 inches of even coverage while pushing usable light up to 30 inches below the surface, deep enough to keep corals low in the tank thriving. With 110 LED chips mixed inside two arrays, the AP9X delivers clean color with no diffuser and none of the disco-ball spotting of lesser LEDs. Kessil concentrates its output on the 425nm violet and 455nm royal blue wavelengths corals rely on most, prioritizing real growth and propagation over inflated PAR numbers.
Kessil Ecosystem
Two K-Link ports and two 0-10V ports let you wire the AP9X to adjacent Kessil fixtures. Over Wi-Fi, a single AP9X can act as the wireless hub for a group of up to 32 X-Series lights and 20 0-10V lights, so an entire reef can be programmed and controlled together from one app.

FAQ
Is this a reef light?
Yes. The AP9X is built for reef and coral aquariums, with a spectrum tuned for coral growth and coloration. It can grow freshwater plants, but its strength is over a saltwater reef.
Do I need a separate controller?
No. The AP9X has built-in Wi-Fi and is controlled through the free Kessil app on iOS or Android. It can even act as the wireless hub for a group of Kessil fixtures, and it works with K-Link and 0-10V controllers.
How do I mount it?
The AP9X works with Kessil's gooseneck and mounting arm accessories (sold separately) so you can position it at the ideal height over your tank.
What size tank does it cover?
It provides up to 48 inches of even coverage and up to 30 inches of penetration, making it a strong choice for larger reef displays or as part of a multi-light array over a big tank.
