How is this different from the regular Red Sea NO3/PO4 kits?
The Pro version uses a high-resolution comparator system instead of basic color cards, giving much finer readings (0.125 ppm NO3, 0.02 ppm PO4). It's the kit serious reefers use to dial in low nutrient levels.

Do I need this if I already have the MCP Marine Care kit?
If you're running SPS or chasing low-nutrient ULNS conditions, yes — the Pro kit's resolution is essential for that level of monitoring. The MCP kit is fine for standard maintenance.

Can I just buy refills later?
Yes. Red Sea sells separate Nitrate Pro and Phosphate Pro refill kits (100 tests each), so you only replace the reagents you've used.

Is this freshwater compatible?
No. The Algae Control Pro kit is formulated specifically for marine and reef aquariums.
