The Red Sea Reefer DC 600 Protein Skimmer is the flagship of Red Sea's skimmer lineup — a self-leveling, smart-ready DC skimmer rated for reef systems up to 450 gallons. It runs on the Sicce PSK DC-1200 pump, so it's quiet, efficient, and delivers precisely controllable air flow for dialed-in skimming.

What sets the DC line apart is Red Sea's self-leveling technology: when the foam in the neck gets wetter than your "over-skim" threshold, the pump automatically ramps down to prevent overflow and cup spills while continuing to aerate the water. One less thing to babysit — and a big deal if you've ever come home to a flooded stand.

What's the difference between the DC 600 and the standard Reefer 600?
The DC version uses a controllable DC pump (Sicce PSK DC-1200) with self-leveling technology and smart-controller compatibility. The standard Reefer 600 uses an AC Sicce PSK pump — great skimmer, but without the adjustable speed, auto-leveling, or smart features.

Will it fit my sump?
You'll need at least a 10.2" x 9.4" footprint and 22" of vertical clearance. Recommended water height in the skimmer chamber is 7–9". Double-check your sump's skimmer section before buying.

Does it come with a controller?
The DC pump has a built-in controller for speed adjustment. For smart/app-based control, Red Sea's ReefLink or ReefBeat connectivity adds wireless monitoring and remote adjustment.
