Squeaky's Digital Thermometer
The Squeaky's Digital Thermometer is a simple, reliable LCD aquarium thermometer with an external probe. The compact display sticks to the front glass with a suction cup so you can read the temperature at a glance, while the sealed probe sits inside the tank for an accurate reading of actual water temperature. Works in both freshwater and saltwater setups.
Pair it with the rest of our water testing gear and water care supplies to keep your aquarium dialed in.
Why You Want One
- Glass-stick LCD display — large digits readable from across the room
- External sensor probe — reads actual water temp, not air temp next to the lights
- °F / °C toggle — switch units with a single button press
- Freshwater & saltwater safe — sealed probe is corrosion-resistant
- Battery powered — no need to find a wall outlet, mount it anywhere
- Backup or primary — great as a sanity check alongside a heater thermostat
How to Use It
- Pop the battery into the back of the display unit.
- Stick the LCD display to the outside of your tank glass with the included suction cup (or magnetic mount, where included).
- Drop the sensor probe into the water and secure the cable with the small suction cup so it doesn't drift.
- Press the unit button to toggle between °F and °C if needed.
- Check the reading any time. For most tropical fish and reef setups, target 76–80°F.

FAQ
Why use a separate thermometer when my heater has a thermostat? Heater thermostats fail. A second-opinion digital thermometer catches a stuck thermostat before it cooks the tank.
Is the probe safe for reef tanks? Yes — the sealed probe is corrosion-resistant and reef-safe. Just rinse with RO water when you do tank cleanings.
How often do I replace the battery? Typically once a year with daily use. If readings start flickering or drifting, swap the battery.
What temperature should my tank be? Tropical freshwater & reef tanks: 76–80°F. Coldwater goldfish: 65–72°F. Discus: 82–86°F. Always match your specific livestock.
