Aquatop AquaFin Replacement Filter Pad 3-Pack

Genuine Aquatop replacement pads for the AquaFin desktop aquarium kits. Three polyester floss pads, cut to drop straight into the top filter box. The pad is the first of the AquaFin's three filtration stages, catching debris before water reaches the bio rings and bio balls underneath, so it is also the stage that loads up fastest and the one you actually replace.

How often should I change it?
Aquatop say monthly, sooner if the flow drops off. A pack of three covers a quarter.

Does it fit both tank sizes?
Yes. The 5 gallon and 8 gallon use the same filter box and the same pad.

Can I rinse and reuse it?
A gentle rinse in old tank water buys you a little time, but floss is a consumable. Once it stays grey after rinsing, change it.

Do I change the bio media too?
No. The rings and balls below hold your bacteria colony and should be left alone. Only the top pad is meant to be replaced.
