Seachem Flourish Tabs

Seachem Flourish Tabs are slow-release root-tab fertilizers built for freshwater planted aquariums. Each tab packs iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, and trace micronutrients straight to the root zone where heavy root-feeders pull what they need. Use them as your foundation feed for plants like swords, crypts, and bulb species, then top off the water column with Seachem's liquid Flourish line. What It Does

• Delivers iron and 11 trace elements directly to plant root zones.
• Gravimetrically bound so nutrients release slowly over months, not days.
• No copper. Safe with shrimp, snails, and other freshwater invertebrates.
• Won't cloud the water column or feed nuisance algae the way over-dosed liquid ferts can.
• 10 tabs per pack covers roughly 100 gallons of substrate for an initial dose.

How to Use

• Initial dose: insert 1 tab per 10 gallons of substrate, spaced evenly across the planted area, about 1 to 2 inches deep.
• For heavy root-feeders (Amazon swords, crypts, lotus, vallisneria), place a tab within an inch or two of the crown.
• Reapply every 3 to 6 months, or whenever new leaf growth pales and you've already ruled out lighting or CO2.
• Best paired with a liquid water-column fertilizer for fast-growing stem plants and floaters.

Best For

• Root-feeding plants: Amazon swords, crypts (Cryptocoryne), Echinodorus, lotus, banana plant, dwarf sag, vallisneria.
• Inert substrates: standard pool-filter sand, plain gravel, and other low-nutrient substrates that don't feed plants on their own.
• Older planted tanks where the original aqua soil has lost most of its nutrient load.

FAQ

Will this cloud my water?
No. Tabs are designed to be buried in the substrate, so the nutrients release at the root zone rather than into the water column.

Are they safe with shrimp and snails?
Yes. Flourish Tabs are copper free and safe with neocaridina, amano, ramshorn, and nerite at the labeled dose.

How deep do I bury them?
About 1 to 2 inches, deep enough that the tab doesn't get kicked back to the surface by curious fish or routine cleaning.

Do I still need a liquid fertilizer?
For mostly root-feeders, tabs alone are usually enough. For tanks with lots of stem plants, mosses, or floaters, pair tabs with a water-column fertilizer for best growth.

How often do I redose?
Every 3 to 6 months under normal conditions. If you notice yellowing or stunted new growth in heavy root-feeders, redose those areas sooner.
