Seachem The Bag
Seachem The Bag is a durable, reusable media bag for holding loose filtration media in any filter. Unlike stitched nylon bags that fray and unravel, The Bag has a welded, non-stitched seam and a fine 180 micron mesh that holds even the smallest resins while letting water flow through. Fill it with your favorite media and drop it into a canister, sump, or hang-on-back filter. Pair it with Seachem Purigen or Seachem Matrix, or browse more filter media at Squeaky's.
Features
- Welded, non-stitched seam that will not fray or come apart
- Fine 180 micron mesh holds even small resins like Purigen
- Resealable, corrosion-resistant locking closure
- Chemically inert, resistant to bleach, caustics, and acids
- Reusable for years, just rinse and refill
- Works in both freshwater and saltwater filters
How to Use It
Open the closure, add your chosen media (activated carbon, resins, bio-media, phosphate remover, and more), and reseal. Rinse the filled bag under running water, then place it in your filter where water flows through it rather than around it. When it is time to recharge or replace the media, just rinse the bag and reuse it.

FAQ
Will fine resins like Purigen escape through the mesh? No. The 180 micron mesh is fine enough to hold Purigen and other small resin beads while still allowing good water flow.
Is it really reusable? Yes. Because the seam is welded rather than stitched and the material resists bleach, acids, and caustics, The Bag holds up to repeated rinsing and media changes for years.
Can I use it in both freshwater and saltwater? Yes. The Bag is chemically inert and works in any freshwater or saltwater filter.
What can I put in it? Any loose media, including activated carbon, chemical resins, bio-media, and phosphate or ammonia removers. Make sure aquarium water flows through the filled bag for best results.
