SFBB Mysis Shrimp Mini Cube 1.75oz
SFBB Frozen Mysis Shrimp are cubes of whole mysis (Neomysis japonica), a rich, high-protein food that even the pickiest fish rarely turn down. Mysis are a go-to for finicky eaters in both fresh and salt water, and a favorite of seahorses, mandarins, anthias, and wild-caught fish that need coaxing onto prepared food. Each 1.75 oz box holds 36 pre-portioned mini-cubes, sized for desktop and nano aquariums.
Pair them with other frozen favorites like SFBB Frozen Rotifers and Ocean Nutrition Frozen Brine Shrimp, or browse all of our frozen and prepared foods. Want a larger pack of mysis? See Ocean Nutrition Frozen Mysis Shrimp and Piscine Energetics PE Mysis.
Why frozen mysis
- Wins over picky eaters. The natural size, shape, and scent of whole mysis trigger a strong feeding response, perfect for finicky or newly imported fish.
- High-protein staple. Mysis are packed with protein and are an excellent everyday food for reef fish, community fish, and specialty feeders alike.
- Loved by specialty fish. Seahorses, mandarins, anthias, wrasses, and many other fish that ignore flakes and pellets readily take mysis.
- Sized for small tanks. The 36 mini-cube pack suits desktop and nano aquariums, with individual cubes for clean, no-waste feeding.
- Safely processed. San Francisco Bay Brand freezes its mysis to help reduce the parasites and bacteria that can come with live food.
How to feed
Pop one mini-cube into a small cup of tank water and let it thaw for a minute or two, then pour it into the aquarium or target-feed with a pipette or turkey baster. Feed once or twice a day in amounts your fish finish in a couple of minutes, and net out anything left over. Do not microwave the cube and do not refreeze a thawed one.

FAQ
Will this help my picky fish start eating?
Often, yes. Mysis is one of the most reliable foods for tempting finicky or newly imported fish, in both fresh and saltwater tanks.
Is it good for seahorses and mandarins?
Yes. Frozen mysis is a staple for seahorses and one of the best prepared foods for training mandarins off live copepods.
Can I feed it in a freshwater tank?
Absolutely. Mysis is a both-water food that community fish, cichlids, and other freshwater species take eagerly.
How long does a box last?
Kept solidly frozen, the cubes stay good for months. Just avoid thaw-and-refreeze cycles, which break down the food and can foul your water.
