Two Little Fishies Magnesium Concentrate is a concentrated magnesium supplement for reef aquariums, formulated by Julian Sprung. Magnesium is a major component of natural seawater and is essential for maintaining a stable calcium and alkalinity balance, healthy coral and coralline algae growth, and proper pH. Using a blend of magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate to match natural seawater ratios, it restores the magnesium that is depleted by coral growth and calcium and alkalinity dosing. Pair it with C-Balance and the rest of our reef supplements.

Why magnesium matters

Magnesium keeps calcium and carbonate, or alkalinity, in solution so your corals can actually use them. When magnesium runs low, calcium and alkalinity become difficult to maintain and can crash together. Magnesium also supports the operation of cellular enzymes and the health of corals, coralline algae, macroalgae, and seagrasses. Keeping it near natural seawater levels, around 1280 to 1350 ppm, makes the rest of your dosing far more stable.

How to use

• Test your aquarium's magnesium level first
• Dose Magnesium Concentrate to raise magnesium toward the natural seawater range, following the label instructions
• Add to an area of strong flow, and avoid raising magnesium too quickly
• Retest and adjust as your corals consume magnesium over time
