Care Guide

• Planting: remove the pot and rock wool, separate the stems, and plant them individually an inch apart in the mid or background. Each stem roots on its own.
• Light: low to moderate is plenty. More light tightens the leaf stacking and can blush the tops golden-bronze.
• Water parameters: 68 to 82°F, pH 6.0 to 8.0. Native to the southeastern US, it handles cool and warm tanks alike.

FAQ

Why is it called Lemon Bacopa?
The leaves carry aromatic oils; crush one grown above water and you get a burst of lemon-mint. Underwater leaves keep the good looks but not the scent.

My stems are getting leggy. What changed?
Leggy gaps between leaves mean the light is too weak for the growth rate. Raise the light slightly or trim and replant the healthy tops to restart dense growth.

Does it need CO2 or fancy substrate?
No and no. It roots happily in plain gravel or sand and grows well in low-tech setups, just more slowly than in high-tech tanks.

Can it grow out of the water?
Yes, it transitions to emersed growth easily, making it a favorite for paludariums, ripariums, and pond edges where it flowers.
