Product description

Brightwell Razor Marine is a coral-safe systemic cleaner for saltwater and reef aquariums. Its suspended cleaning polymers gently loosen the stubborn film and buildup that clings to live rock, decorations, and glass, then help your filtration carry the loosened debris away, so the tank looks cleaner with far less scraping and scrubbing. Add it to your routine alongside the rest of our Brightwell Aquatics lineup, or browse more saltwater care at Squeaky's.

How It Works

Razor Marine works slowly and passively. Its polymers stay suspended in the water column and do two jobs at once:

  • Loosen buildup on rock, coral skeletons and decorations, and glass so it lifts away more easily during normal maintenance.
  • Act as a flocculant, clumping fine floating particles together so your protein skimmer and mechanical filtration can export them.

Over time it also discourages new deposits from re-attaching, which keeps glass clearer between cleanings. Because the action is gradual, it can take several applications to reach the look you want.

Features

  • Passively and systemically cleans aquarium surfaces
  • Gently loosens unwanted buildup on rock, decor, and glass
  • Helps mechanical filtration capture floating particulates
  • Keeps glass cleaner longer between scrapings
  • Reef safe: safe for marine fish, hard and soft corals, and most inverts and macroalgae when used as directed

Directions for Use

Shake well before use and dose into a high-flow area of the aquarium. The bottle cap holds 5 ml. The dosages below are per 50 gallons (190 L) of aquarium water, added once daily over six days:

Day Dose per 50 gallons
Day 1 2.5 ml (half capful)
Day 2 5 ml (1 capful)
Day 3 7.5 ml (1.5 capfuls)
Day 4 10 ml (2 capfuls)
Day 5 12.5 ml (2.5 capfuls)
Day 6 15 ml (3 capfuls)

Maintenance: after the initial course, add 7.5 ml (1.5 capfuls) per 50 gallons every other day, or as needed to keep surfaces clean.

While you dose: take activated carbon offline first, since carbon reduces the product's effectiveness. Expect to rinse or swap mechanical media (filter socks, pads, floss) every other day, because it will be catching the loosened debris. Reinstall carbon once the tank looks the way you want. Keep an eye on livestock during use; if corals stay closed or animals seem stressed, cut back or stop, run a partial water change, and add carbon.

FAQ

Is Razor Marine safe for my corals? Yes. Used as directed it is safe for marine fish, hard and soft corals, other invertebrates, and most macroalgae. Because every tank is different, watch your animals closely and reduce or pause dosing if you see stress.

Why is my filter media clogging faster? That is the product working. As Razor Marine loosens buildup and clumps particles together, your mechanical media catches more of it, so rinse or replace socks and pads more often while you dose.

Do I need to turn off my protein skimmer? No. The skimmer actually helps by exporting the particles Razor Marine clumps together. Just take activated carbon offline while dosing, since carbon reduces effectiveness.

How long until I see results? It works gradually and may need several applications. Follow the six-day course, then maintenance dosing, and surfaces get easier to keep clean over time.
