Does Bucephalandra need CO2?
No. Bucephalandra grows perfectly well without CO2 injection. It's a slow grower by nature, and while CO2 can encourage slightly faster growth, it's completely optional.
Can I plant Bucephalandra in substrate?
No — Bucephalandra is an epiphyte and must be attached to hardscape (rocks or driftwood). Burying the rhizome in substrate will cause it to rot and die. Use super glue gel or fishing line to secure it.
Why are the leaves melting after I added it to my tank?
Tissue culture plants often experience a brief transition period when moved to a submerged aquarium. Some leaf melting is normal as the plant adapts from its emersed tissue culture form to submersed growth. New healthy leaves will emerge within 1–3 weeks.
Is Bucephalandra safe with shrimp and snails?
Absolutely. Bucephalandra is completely shrimp-safe and makes an excellent choice for shrimp tanks. The textured leaves provide great grazing surfaces for biofilm.
