How to Use

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Ammonia Remover in saltwater?
No. The zeolite removes ammonia by ion exchange, which does not work in saltwater. For marine tanks, rely on strong biological filtration and water changes instead.

Will it stop my tank from cycling?
It can slow the buildup of a bacteria colony because it competes for ammonia, so use it as a short-term safety net during spikes rather than running it permanently in an established tank.

How is this different from Zeo-Carb?
This insert is pure zeolite for ammonia only. Zeo-Carb combines zeolite with activated carbon, so it also removes odors and discoloration. Choose this one when ammonia is your only concern.

How often do I replace it?
