NYOS QUANTUM 160 Protein Skimmer

The NYOS QUANTUM 160 is an efficient, very quiet in-sump protein skimmer for aquariums of 250 to 1,000 liters (60 to 250 gal). NYOS built it around four goals: high skimming performance, smooth quiet running, low power use (18 W) and easy maintenance, with the pump integrated rather than bolted on outside.

Key technology

• Hybrid Wheel: A precision impeller that combines needle-wheel and lattice-wheel designs to make countless very fine bubbles, with low weight for less wear and lower energy use.
• Clear-View Reactor: A transparent, large-volume pump chamber matched to the Hybrid Wheel and venturi, so you can see it working and spot any debris.
• Twister: A saw-blade shaped insert beside the bubble plate that spins the bubbles into a vortex for longer contact time.
• Sinus design: A flow-optimized double-S body with no corners where bubbles stall.
