Polyp Lab Medic | Reef-Safe Marine Ich & Velvet Treatment
Polyp Lab Medic is a reef-safe parasitic treatment formulated to control marine ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) and marine velvet (Amyloodinium ocellatum) in saltwater aquariums — without the collateral damage of copper, formalin, or organic dyes. Dose it directly in your display tank or quarantine system and continue to enjoy your corals, inverts, and sensitive species while the parasite cycle is broken.

- Treats Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) and Marine Velvet (Amyloodinium ocellatum)
- Reef-safe at recommended dosage — corals, anemones, shrimp, snails, and sensitive species are unaffected
- No copper, no formalin, no organic dyes — won't stain plastics or silicone
- Can be dosed in the display tank or in quarantine
- Two-dose treatment cycle keeps it simple to follow
- Made by PolypLab — established reef-care brand
Standard treatment is two doses, four days apart:
- Day 1: Dose 5 mL per 10 US gallons of total water volume.
- Day 5: Repeat the same dose.
Before treatment, turn off and remove activated carbon, ozone, UV sterilizers, and protein-skimmer carbon. They strip the active ingredient and reduce effectiveness. The skimmer can run after 24 hours; carbon should stay offline for the duration of the treatment cycle.
Maintain stable temperature, salinity, and oxygenation throughout treatment. Do not perform large water changes during the dosing window. After day 9–10, resume normal filtration and run fresh carbon to clear residuals.
Important: Always read the bottle label for current dosing — manufacturer guidance is the source of truth.

Is Medic really reef-safe?
Yes — at the labeled dose it does not harm corals, anemones, shrimp, snails, or other inverts. Many reef keepers dose it directly in the display tank rather than tearing the system down. Always start at the manufacturer's recommended rate, never overdose.
Should I run carbon during treatment?
No. Carbon will strip the active ingredient and undermine the treatment. Pull all carbon, ozone, and UV before dosing, and don't restart them until after the cycle is complete.
Can I dose this in a fish-only system?
Yes. Medic works in FOWLR and fish-only setups as well as reef tanks. The reef-safe formulation is what makes it unique — but it's perfectly suited to QT use too.
How quickly will I see results?
Free-swimming parasite stages drop visibly within the first treatment cycle, but you should always finish the full two-dose protocol. For severe outbreaks, monitor closely and consult the manufacturer's support if symptoms persist.
Will this stain my silicone or plastics?
No. Medic contains no organic dyes, so it won't discolor silicone, rockwork, or aquarium plastics.
