Product description

The Seachem Alerts Combo Pack puts two continuous monitors, Ammonia Alert and pH Alert, in a single in-tank holder so the two parameters most likely to crash a tank are always in view. No reagents, no test tubes, just glance at the colors and read your water at any moment. Both sensors last more than a year, and while the Ammonia Alert reads in fresh or salt water, the pH Alert is built for freshwater, so this combo is ideal for freshwater aquariums. It rounds out the rest of our water testing gear and water care.

Two Monitors in One Holder

  • Ammonia Alert detects free ammonia (NH3), the toxic form that burns gills. Yellow means safe, below 0.02 ppm, and the disc shifts toward green and blue as ammonia climbs. It ignores harmless bound ammonium, so you only react to what matters.
  • pH Alert continuously shows your freshwater pH by color across roughly 6.0 to 7.8, so a slow drift or a sudden swing is visible long before it stresses your fish. It is designed for freshwater tanks.

Why Continuous Monitoring

  • Catches problems between tests. A once-a-week kit can miss an ammonia spike or pH crash that happens on day three. These sensors never look away.
  • No reagents or test tubes. Nothing to run, mix, or count. Glance at the tank and read the color.
  • Great for new tanks. Watch both key parameters closely while a tank cycles and settles in.
  • Built for freshwater. The pH Alert is freshwater only, while the Ammonia Alert also works in saltwater and is unaffected by pH or chloramine.

How to Use

  • Mount the holder inside the tank, fully submerged, where both sensors are easy to see.
  • Allow a few hours after installation for the readings to fully stabilize.
  • Check them during daily feeding. When a color leaves its safe zone, confirm with a liquid kit and act.
  • Replace the sensors after about a year, or whenever the color stops responding.

FAQ

How is the combo different from buying the alerts separately?
You get both the Ammonia Alert and the pH Alert together at a better value, mounted in one holder, so the two most important safety parameters share a single spot in your tank.

Does the pH Alert give an exact number?
It shows your pH by color, which is perfect for spotting a change fast. When you want a precise reading, confirm with a liquid pH kit.

Will my water conditioner affect the ammonia reading?
Yes, in a good way. Detoxifiers like Prime bind free ammonia into a non-toxic form, which is exactly what the Ammonia Alert is designed not to count, so the reading drops as the product works.

Can I use this in a saltwater tank?
The Ammonia Alert half reads in both fresh and salt water, but the pH Alert is freshwater only, so the combo is best suited to freshwater aquariums. For a marine or reef tank, the standalone Ammonia Alert is the better choice.

How long do the sensors last?
More than a year of continuous use each. Replace them when the colors stop responding, or about once a year to stay safe.
