Seachem Cupramine
Seachem Cupramine is a buffered ionic copper treatment that eradicates marine ich (Cryptocaryon), marine velvet (Amyloodinium), freshwater ich (Ichthyophthirius), Oodinium, and other external parasites of both freshwater and marine fish. Unlike copper sulfate and chelated coppers, Cupramine is non-acidic, stays fully charged and active at low doses, is gentler on fish, and is easily removed with carbon when treatment is done. Why Seachem Cupramine
How to Use
For use in a quarantine or hospital tank only. Shake well. Add 1 capful (5 mL) to every 80 liters (about 20 US gallons), which raises copper by about 0.25 mg/L. After 48 hours, repeat the same dose to reach the therapeutic level of 0.5 mg/L. Maintain 0.5 mg/L for 14 days, confirming the level with a copper test kit. Do not exceed 0.8 mg/L. Remove with carbon or water changes when finished.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this in my display tank?
No. Copper is lethal to invertebrates, corals, snails, shrimp, and most plants, and it can absorb into rock and substrate. Treat only in a bare quarantine or hospital tank.
Do I need a test kit?
Yes. Copper must be kept in a precise therapeutic window. Use a copper test kit to confirm you reach and hold 0.5 mg/L without overshooting.
How do I remove it afterward?
Run fresh activated carbon or do water changes to strip the copper out of the water once treatment is complete.
How is it better than copper sulfate?
Cupramine is buffered and non-acidic, stays active at lower concentrations, is gentler on fish, and removes cleanly with carbon.
