Product description

Aqueon Silicone Sealant is a 100% silicone aquarium sealant that stops leaks and forms a permanent, water-tight seal. It is the same high-strength silicone used to build new aquariums, so it bonds glass securely and stays permanently flexible, it will not crack or shrink over time. Non-toxic once cured, it is safe for both freshwater and saltwater tanks. Browse more aquarium tools and maintenance supplies at Squeaky's Aquatics.

Features

  • Stops leaks: a waterproof seal reseals seams and stops leaks fast.
  • Permanently flexible: will not crack or shrink, so the repair lasts.
  • Aquarium-grade strength: the same silicone used to manufacture new aquariums.
  • Non-toxic: aquarium-safe once fully cured, for freshwater and saltwater.
  • Two colors: clear blends into any tank, black gives a clean, hidden-seam look.

How to Apply

  1. Drain the tank and let the repair area dry completely. Scrape off old silicone, algae and residue.
  2. Apply a continuous bead along the seam or crack, then smooth it with a wet fingertip or tool.
  3. Let it cure fully before adding water. Allow at least 24 to 48 hours for a complete cure.
  4. Rinse the tank before returning fish, plants or corals.

FAQ

Is it safe for fish?
Yes, once fully cured. The silicone is non-toxic after curing and safe for freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Always cure it completely and rinse before adding livestock.

How long does it take to cure?
Allow at least 24 to 48 hours for a full cure before filling the tank.

Clear or black?
Clear blends into most tanks and is the most versatile. Black hides seams for a cleaner, finished look, popular on rimless and reef tanks.

Does the 10.3 oz fit a caulk gun?
Yes. The 10.3 oz cartridge fits a standard caulking gun for larger repairs and full aquarium builds.
