ATI Carbon Super Pure - 1000 mL

ATI Carbon Super Pure is an acid-washed activated carbon for reef aquariums. ATI rates its binding capacity at up to three times that of standard aquarium carbons, for removing coral toxins, yellowing organics, medication residues and other growth inhibitors. This size is 1000 mL (500 g, 1.1 lb).

Why Carbon Super Pure

• Surface area: 1,050 m²/g for high adsorption capacity.
• Adsorption: Iodine value about 1,020 mg/g and methylene blue value about 130 mL/g, capturing both small and large organic molecules.
• Acid washed: Strips inorganic contaminants, metals and phosphate so the carbon doesn't leach them into the tank.
• Ultra-low silicate: Ash content under 1% (ATI notes many carbons run up to 15%, a major silicate source).
• Low dust: 97% ball-pan hardness for minimal abrasion.

How to use

• Use 15 to 25 g (30 to 50 mL) per 100 L (26 gal)
• Soak in RO water for 10 minutes before use to release air and settle the carbon
• Best in a media reactor with gentle flow: slightly suspended, not tumbling
• Replace every 4 weeks
