ATI ICP Element Alkalinity - 1000 mL

ATI ICP Element Alkalinity is a high-purity, single-element alkalinity solution for precisely adjusting alkalinity levels in reef aquariums. It is part of ATI's revised ICP Elements line, developed and tested in the ATI Lab in Germany, and ATI designs it both for correcting an acute deficiency and for maintaining the daily supply. Why alkalinity matters

• Coral survival: Low alkalinity is a leading cause of SPS and LPS losses, bringing slow skeletal growth, dull color, tissue damage and a higher risk of RTN and STN.
• pH stability: Alkalinity is the buffer that prevents dangerous pH swings, which stress fish and invertebrates.
• Coralline algae: Coralline algae depend on stable KH to encrust and grow.

Common causes of a deficiency (per ATI): heavy uptake by growing corals, salt mixes with a low base KH, or equipment problems such as a clogged dosing line or an uncalibrated pump.

Dosing

• Contents: one bottle holds 10,000 °dKH
• Standard dose: 1 mL per 100 L (26 gal) raises alkalinity by 0.1 °dKH
• Safe daily limit: raise alkalinity by no more than 4 °dKH per day (40 mL per 100 L)
• Dose to a current ICP analysis and correct only a measured deficiency, then retest
• Crystals can form at low temperatures. If you see crystals, warm the bottle in a 45 °C (115 °F) water bath until they dissolve.
