Brightwell Aquatics Koral MD Coral Dip & Cleaner
Brightwell Aquatics Koral MD is a standard-strength coral and frag dip, cleaner, conditioner, and acclimator made from natural plant extracts and oils. It contains no iodine. Use it to clean new corals and live rock before they go in your display, to help newly cut frags acclimate, and to wash new or damaged corals. It is safe for stony and soft corals, sea anemones, mushroom anemones, and zoanthids. Add it to your quarantine routine alongside our corals.
How to Dip
- Shake the bottle very well before every use.
- Add 20 mL (4 capfuls) to 1/2 gallon (1.9 L) of aged seawater, ideally old aquarium water, in a plastic container. Mix well.
- Place the coral in the mixture so it is completely immersed.
- Bathe for 5 to 10 minutes (15 minutes is the absolute maximum), gently agitating the mixture.
- Use a turkey baster to squirt dip between branches and into spots you cannot reach.
- Rinse the coral completely in plain aged seawater, then place it in its new home.
- The mixture can clean several corals, but discard it after an hour.
Why Reefkeepers Use It

FAQ
Can I pour it into my tank? No. Koral MD is strictly a dip used outside the aquarium, or a wipe and soak for empty holding systems. Never dose it into a display.
Does it contain iodine? No. It is an iodine-free formula built from natural plant extracts and oils.
Is it a medication? No. Brightwell is clear that this is a prophylactic cleaner and dip, not a medication or a household cleaner.
How long can the mixed dip be used? You can run several corals through the same batch, but discard it after an hour and mix fresh.
Safety? Wear rubber gloves and goggles. It irritates eyes and skin, so keep it away from children and never consume it. Flush with water if it contacts eyes or skin.
