Eshopps U-Tube

Replacement U-tube for Eshopps hang-on overflow boxes. The U-tube is the siphon that carries water over the tank rim from the inner box to the outer prefilter box, so it is the one part that decides whether your overflow keeps up with the return pump. Keep a spare on the shelf: a cracked, scratched, or algae-fouled tube is the usual reason a hang-on overflow loses siphon. The rigid, large-bore tube also works for custom plumbing projects. FAQ

How do I restart the siphon? Fill the tube completely, cap both ends with your thumbs, seat it in both boxes under water, then release. Some overflow boxes have an airline port you can suck on or connect to a small pump to pull the air out.

How often should I replace it? Whenever it is scratched, cloudy, or holding air bubbles at the top of the bend. Clean it with a bottle brush during water changes to keep the siphon strong.
