Hikari Betta Revive
Hikari Betta Revive is a multi-purpose health aid made specifically for betta fish, formulated to prevent and control the protozoan, bacterial, and fungal problems bettas are prone to in bowls and small tanks. A few drops help with issues like fin rot, fungus, cloudy eye, and early ich, with results usually showing in three to seven days. The concentrated 2.5 mL bottle doses many small betta water changes, so one bottle goes a long way.
What It Treats
- Fungal infections, including cottony growth and mouth or body fungus
- Bacterial problems such as fin and tail rot, cloudy eye, and ulcers
- Protozoan parasites like ich (white spot) and velvet
- A sensible first response when a betta looks off, clamped, or lethargic
How to Dose
Add 1 drop per 16 fl oz (about 2 cups) of aquarium water once a day. Treat for at least 3 days, and stop once your betta has shown no sign of the problem for 3 days. Do not treat for more than 7 days in a row, and do a partial water change between treatment courses. Always follow the directions printed on the package for your exact water volume.
Before You Treat
- Remove activated carbon and turn off UV or ozone while dosing, since they strip the medication out of the water
- Not invertebrate safe: take out shrimp, snails, and other inverts before treating
- The dye base can tint the water and may stain silicone, decor, and porous surfaces
- Keep the water well aerated throughout treatment

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I reach for Betta Revive?
At the first sign of fin rot, fungus, cloudy eye, or ich, or when a betta is lethargic with clamped fins. Acting early gives the best results.
Is it safe for snails, shrimp, or plants?
No, it is a dye-based medication, so remove invertebrates before dosing and expect it to be hard on sensitive plants. Pull activated carbon while you treat.
How long until I see results?
Usually three to seven days. Stop once symptoms have been gone for three days, and never treat for more than seven days straight.
Will it discolor my water?
Yes, the medication tints the water and can stain silicone and porous decor. This is normal and clears with water changes and carbon after treatment.
