IceCap 4-Stage RO/DI System 150 GPD
The IceCap 4-Stage RO/DI System 150 GPD turns tap water into the zero-TDS water a reef tank needs for top-off and salt mixing. Sized for large reefs and multi-tank rooms, it makes up to 150 gallons a day at a lean 1.5 to 1 waste ratio. A 5-micron sediment filter and a 5-micron carbon block protect a genuine Dow Filmtec membrane, and a color-changing mixed-bed DI cartridge polishes the last few parts per million away. Every unit comes complete with a glycerin-filled pressure gauge, auto shut-off valve, manual flush restrictor, mounting hardware, tubing and a filter wrench. Check your output with an inline meter such as the HM Digital TRM-1, and browse the rest of our water testing kits.
Why You'll Love It
- Four stages to zero TDS: sediment, carbon block, RO membrane and DI resin reject up to 99% of dissolved solids, with the DI finishing at 0 ppm.
- Genuine Dow Filmtec membrane: the Dow Filmtec BW60-1812-75, the industry-standard thin-film composite element, not a generic copy.
- Pressure gauge included: the glycerin-filled gauge shows feed pressure at a glance so you know when a pre-filter is clogging or a booster pump is needed.
- Auto shut-off and flush: the shut-off valve stops production when your reservoir float valve closes, and the manual flush restrictor lets you rinse the membrane for longer life.
- Clear 10 inch canisters: see the sediment filter darken and the DI resin change color, so you change media on evidence rather than a calendar.
- Ready to hang: mounting bracket, 1/4 inch push-connect fittings, tubing and a wrench are in the box, and it needs no electricity.
Setup and Care
- Mount the bracket near a cold water supply and a drain. Connect the feed with the included fittings and 1/4 inch tubing, run the waste line to a drain and the product line to your reservoir.
- Open the flush valve and let the unit run to waste for the first 20 to 30 minutes to rinse the new membrane, then close it and discard the first tank of water.
- Meter the water after the membrane and again after the DI. The membrane should reject most of the tap water TDS; the DI should read 0 ppm.
- Replace the sediment and carbon cartridges when flow or pressure drops, or about every six months, and the DI resin when the color change reaches the top of the cartridge. The membrane typically lasts years if the pre-filters are kept fresh.
Rated output assumes 77 degree F water at 65 PSI. Cold winter tap water and low household pressure both cut production; a booster pump restores it.

FAQ
Why is this pickup only? It is a bulky box that we would rather hand to you with a quick walkthrough of the fittings than trust to a courier. Order online and pick it up at the store.
Will I really get 150 gallons a day? Only at the rated 77 degrees F and 65 PSI. Cold tap water and low pressure reduce output, sometimes by half in winter; a booster pump brings it back up.
How do I know when to change the DI resin? Watch the color band climb the cartridge and check the output with a TDS meter. When the reading rises above 0 ppm, refill or replace the resin.
Can I use it for freshwater tanks too? Yes. Zero-TDS water is the blank slate for remineralizing planted tanks and for shrimp keepers, not just reefs.
