Aquaforest KH Buffer 1200g
Aquaforest KH Buffer is a concentrated powdered alkalinity supplement that raises and holds your tank's dKH without affecting other element levels. Alkalinity drives calcification, the process corals use to build their calcium carbonate skeletons, so stable KH is essential for healthy SPS, LPS, and soft coral growth. As a dry additive it is highly cost effective and, mixed into solution, performs as well as or better than liquid alkalinity products.
Part of the Aquaforest reef range. Dose it alongside Component Strong, Reef Mineral Salt, and your calcium and magnesium to keep your corals in balance.
Features
- Raises and holds dKH. Maintains stable alkalinity without changing other element concentrations.
- Powers coral growth. Alkalinity fuels calcification for SPS corals, LPS corals, soft corals, and clams.
- Cost-effective dry format. Mixes into a solution that performs as well as or better than liquid additives.
- Part of the AF dosing system. Works with calcium, magnesium, and trace elements for full balance.
How to Use
- Make a solution: add 80 g of KH Buffer to 1000 mL of RODI water. Stir vigorously and let sit for 24 hours before use.
- Start with 5 mL per 27 gallons of aquarium water daily.
- Test alkalinity after each dose and adjust to your system's demand.
- Add the solution slowly to a high-flow area of the tank to reduce precipitation.

FAQ
What does KH Buffer do?
It raises and stabilizes alkalinity (dKH), the element corals need to build their calcium carbonate skeletons.
How do I prepare it?
Mix 80 g into 1000 mL of RODI water, stir, and let it sit for 24 hours before dosing.
How much should I dose?
Start at 5 mL per 27 gallons daily, then test your alkalinity and adjust to your tank's demand.
Why add it to high flow?
Adding alkalinity slowly into a high-flow area helps it disperse and reduces localized precipitation.
