NYOS BYOTIC Probiotic Bacteria

NYOS BYOTIC is a highly concentrated probiotic bacteria powder that restores the natural bacterial balance in a reef tank. NYOS reports that corals in established tanks sometimes die from an imbalance in the bacterial population in which pathogenic germs such as vibrios are present, and recommends BYOTIC both when problems appear and as a precaution.

Dosing

• When problems appear: 1 g per 100 L (26 gal) daily for 3 to 5 days, then 0.5 g per 100 L daily until symptoms are gone

• Dosing spoon: 2.5 mL = 2 g, 5 mL = 4 g
• Dissolve the dose in a separate container of tank water, then add it to the aquarium
• Turn off UV sterilizers during treatment
• Higher doses may slightly lower nitrate and phosphate
