NYOS Floating Fish Trap

The NYOS Floating Fish Trap makes catching a fish easy without pulling rockwork. The round, transparent trap holds to the glass with a two-part magnetic holder; once the fish swims in, you release the outer magnet and an air chamber at the opening flips the trap 90 degrees so it floats to the surface with the fish inside. No lines or trap doors to trigger.

How it works

• Attach the trap to the glass with the magnetic holder, anywhere that's convenient
• Feed through the trap, using the included pipette to place food
• When the fish is inside, pull off the outer magnet by hand or with a string attached
• The air chamber tips the trap 90 degrees and it floats up with the fish

NYOS catching tips

• Give the fish time to get used to the trap, and feed only through the trap while they do
• For algae eaters, hold algae in place with the included magnet
• Moving the food with the pipette attracts many fish
• With small, fast fish, wait until they are completely inside
• Don't try to catch several large fish at once
• For shy fish, tie a string to the magnetic holder to release it from a distance, or remove dominant fish first
• If needed, turn off flow so food stays in the trap
