The Real Reef Ready Reef Mix is a curated box of assorted Real Reef shapes and sizes, picked so you can build a complete aquascape straight out of the box. Like all Real Reef, it is eco-friendly aquacultured (man-made) rock, grown in greenhouses instead of harvested from the ocean, so it is lightweight, extremely porous, colored in natural purples, pinks, and reds, and free of the pests and contaminants that ride in on wild live rock.

Aquascaping tips

• Dry-fit your layout before gluing. Bond pieces into stable structures with cyanoacrylate gel and reef-safe epoxy putty.
• Rinse in RO/DI or saltwater before adding. Because it starts dry, let the tank cure and cycle so the rock becomes fully bio-active.
• Leave open space and flow for coral placement and easy maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this live rock? It is aquacultured dry rock. It has the look and porosity of live rock but ships dry and pest-free, then becomes bio-active as your tank cycles.

Can I use it in freshwater? No. Real Reef is made for marine and reef tanks; it holds a high, stable pH that is not suited to most freshwater setups.

How much rock do I need? Match the mix to your tank size using the chart above. A common guideline is roughly 1 to 1.5 lb per gallon, though open aquascapes often use less for better flow.
