The Red Sea ReefMat 1200 is an automated fleece roller filter designed for large reef and marine aquariums up to 320 gallons (1200 L). It replaces messy filter socks with a motor-driven roll of 50 g/m² non-woven polyester fleece that advances automatically when dirty, delivering continuous mechanical filtration without daily maintenance.

Pair it with the Red Sea ReefBeat app to monitor usage, receive fault and empty-roll alerts, and get a warning before the roll runs out. The smart drive unit runs standalone too — no app required for normal operation.

How long does one fleece roll last?
A standard roll lasts several weeks to a few months depending on bioload and flow. The ReefBeat app tracks usage and alerts you before it runs out.

Do I have to use the ReefBeat app?
No. The ReefMat 1200 will run standalone, but connecting it to ReefBeat unlocks usage logs, fault alerts (torn fleece, empty roll), and notification before it needs a refill.

Is it skimmer-friendly?
Yes. The 50 g/m² non-woven polyester fleece is designed to be skimmer-friendly and won't strip beneficial organics the way finer media can.
