What is the difference between Red Sea Salt (Blue) and Coral Pro (Black)?
Red Sea Salt (blue bucket) has balanced foundation elements suited for most reef and fish-only saltwater tanks. Coral Pro (black bucket) has higher calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels designed for tanks with heavy SPS and LPS coral loads requiring accelerated growth.

How much salt do I need per gallon?
Use approximately 1/2 cup per gallon of RO/DI water and mix until fully dissolved. Target a specific gravity of 1.021–1.025 depending on your system.

Does this salt need to be mixed in advance?
Yes. Mix the salt with heated RO/DI water (75–78°F) and circulate with a powerhead for at least 2–4 hours before adding to your tank. This ensures full dissolution and stable parameters.
