Product description

In-store pickup only. This is a refrigerated food, kept chilled in store and held for you until pickup. Bring a cooler for the trip home in warm weather.

Reef Nutrition Tigger-Feast is a refrigerated, highly concentrated form of the same Tigriopus californicus copepods found in live Tigger-Pods. It is not a live food. The whole copepods are kept intact in a nutrient-rich suspension, so they deliver the full nutrition of live pods with a far longer shelf life. Every batch is 100% aquacultured and enriched with Reef Nutrition’s own Phyto-Feast marine microalgae. Browse more reef foods or shop our corals.

Why Reef Keepers Use Tigger-Feast

  • Whole-prey nutrition: large-bodied Tiggers trigger a natural feeding response
  • Naturally pigmented with astaxanthin to help boost coral and fish coloration
  • Enriched with Phyto-Feast microalgae for higher nutritional value
  • Wide 250 to 1700 micron particle range suits many mouths and polyps
  • Available year-round with a long refrigerated shelf life, unlike live pods

What It Feeds

LPS and NPS (non-photosynthetic) corals, many filter-feeding invertebrates, and picky fish including mandarins, dragonets, pipefish, anthias, and seahorses.

How to Feed

  • Shake the bottle well before each use
  • Broadcast feeding: add to a high-flow area of the tank with pumps running
  • Target feeding: premix about 4 parts tank water to 1 part Tigger-Feast, then feed corals directly. Do not target-feed the undiluted concentrate
  • Turn the protein skimmer off for 10 to 15 minutes so animals can capture the food
  • Start with a small amount and adjust to your tank’s bioload

FAQ

Is Tigger-Feast alive? No. It is a refrigerated concentrate of whole Tigriopus copepods. They do not swim, but they retain the full nutrition of the live pods.

What does it feed? LPS and NPS corals, filter feeders, and finicky fish such as mandarins, dragonets, and pipefish.

How do I feed it? Shake, then broadcast into high flow or target-feed a 4-to-1 tank-water dilution. Turning the skimmer off for 10 to 15 minutes helps.

How do I store it? Keep it refrigerated at 33 to 42 F. It lasts about a year refrigerated.
