How to Prepare
Morning Wood ships as a shelf-stable dry powder. Mix 1 part powder with 2 to 3 parts hot water, stir, and let it set into a firm gel (about 5 minutes). Cut into pieces and drop near your driftwood and bottom feeders, ideally after lights-out. Refrigerate prepared gel for up to a week, or freeze it for longer storage.

Do wood-eating plecos still need driftwood? Yes. Morning Wood supplies the fiber and nutrition, but Panaque and other xylivores also rasp real wood for gut health and enrichment, so keep a piece of driftwood in the tank.
How much do I feed? A piece the size of the fish's head, offered after lights-out, and removed if anything remains after 24 hours. The gel holds together, so leftovers lift out cleanly.
Can I mix it thinner? Stay near the 1 to 3 ratio. The extra-firm set is the point; a thinner mix falls apart under rasping mouths and clouds the water.
Will other fish eat it? Corydoras, loaches and most community fish will pick at it. That is fine, but feed enough that the plecos get their share after the lights go out.
