Setup & Cleaning

1. Rinse each plant in clean tap water before first use to remove packaging dust.
2. Press the weighted base into your substrate or set it directly on hardscape — no glue or anchoring needed.
3. Arrange tallest plants at the back, shorter pieces toward the front of the tank.
4. To clean: rinse in old tank water during a water change, or scrub gently under running water. Do not use soap.
5. Stubborn algae? A 10–20% bleach dip for 90 seconds followed by a thorough rinse and a dechlorinator soak is safe for these plastic plants.

FAQ

Are these safe for goldfish, cichlids, and other plant-destroyers?
Yes. Goldfish, African cichlids, large plecos, and other fish that uproot or shred live plants leave plastic plants alone. The weighted bases keep them planted even with rough digging.

Can I use these in a saltwater tank?
The plants themselves are inert plastic and Weco rates the Freshwater Series as safe in marine water as well, but most reefkeepers prefer corals, macroalgae, or live rock for the saltwater aesthetic. These are best used in freshwater or brackish setups.

Do they tip over?
The Weco weighted base is designed to keep plants upright on its own, but pressing the base partway into a layer of gravel or sand makes it absolutely rock-solid — even with strong filter flow.

How do I get rid of algae buildup?
Light algae rinses off in tank water during a water change. For stubborn green or black algae, soak in a 1:10 bleach-to-water solution for 90 seconds, rinse thoroughly under running water, then soak in dechlorinated water for 5 minutes before returning to the tank.

Will the colors fade?
Weco uses color-fast plastic, so the green and red tones hold up under aquarium lighting for years. Direct sunlight on a tank can fade any plant (live or artificial) faster, so keep tanks out of direct sun for best longevity.
