ZooMed Natural Aquatic Turtle Food (Growth Formula)
Zoo Med Natural Aquatic Turtle Food (Growth Formula) is a floating pellet food made for young aquatic turtles in their fastest growing stage. The 35% protein recipe supports steady shell and bone development in sliders, painted turtles, map turtles, and other aquatic species from 2 to 6 inches of shell length, with no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
Setting up a turtle tank? Add a Zoo Med Turtle Dock for basking and the Zoo Med submersible turtle filter to help keep feeding water clean.
Why Growth Formula
Turtles in the 2 to 6 inch range grow fast and need more protein than adults. Growth Formula delivers 35% protein in a 3/16 inch floating pellet sized for smaller mouths, with added vitamins, minerals, and other trace nutrients. Once your turtle passes 6 inches of shell length, transition to a lower protein maintenance food.
How to Feed
- Feed once or twice daily, only as much as your turtle finishes in a few minutes.
- The pellets float, so surface feeding turtles can find every piece.
- Remove uneaten food after feeding to protect water quality.
- Many keepers feed in a separate tub of tank water to keep the main tank cleaner.
- Add a calcium supplement like JurassiPet JurassiCal a few times a week for strong, smooth shell growth.

FAQ
Which formula does my turtle need? Hatchlings under 2 inches do best on a higher protein hatchling formula. From 2 to 6 inches, use this Growth Formula. Over 6 inches, switch to a maintenance formula with less protein.
How much should I feed? Offer what your turtle finishes in about 5 minutes, once or twice a day, and scoop out leftovers.
What turtles is this for? Red eared sliders, painted turtles, map turtles, musk and mud turtles, and other aquatic species that feed in the water.
Which jar should I start with? The 1.5 oz jar is a good trial size for one young turtle. The 7.5 oz and 13 oz jars are the better value once you know your turtle likes it.
