Bulk Reef Supply Brine Shrimp Eggs 1.75 oz
Bulk Reef Supply Brine Shrimp Eggs are premium Artemia cysts for hatching your own live baby brine shrimp, the single best first food for fry and one of the most irresistible treats for small fish, seahorses, and corals. This 1.75 oz (49.6 g) canister holds enough eggs for months of daily hatches. Newly hatched nauplii are packed with the yolk-sac nutrition that gets fry through their critical first weeks, and adult fish go wild for the movement. Hatch them in the Hobby Artemia Hatchery or the SFBB Hatchery Kit, or skip the hatching with Ocean Nutrition Instant Baby Brine Shrimp. Browse all of our fish foods.
Why Hatch Your Own
- The best fry food. Live nauplii trigger a feeding response nothing dry can match and carry a nutrient-rich yolk sac.
- Great for picky eaters. Seahorses, pipefish, dragonets, and new arrivals take live brine before anything else.
- Coral food too. Freshly hatched brine is an ideal size for LPS and many fish-and-coral feeding routines.
- Months of hatches. A small scoop hatches thousands of nauplii; 49.6 g goes a long way.
How to Hatch
Mix about 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt or salt mix per liter (quart) of dechlorinated water, add roughly half a teaspoon of eggs, and keep the water at 80 to 82 F with vigorous aeration and light. Nauplii hatch in 24 to 36 hours. Turn off the air, let the empty shells float and the nauplii collect at the bottom toward the light, then siphon or net them out and rinse before feeding. Store unopened eggs cool and dry; refrigerate after opening to preserve hatch rate.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do I use? About half a teaspoon of eggs per liter of hatching water is plenty for most home hatches.
Why is my hatch rate low? Temperature, aeration, and freshness matter most. Keep the water at 80 to 82 F, bubble it hard, and refrigerate opened eggs.
Can I feed the shells? No. Separate the nauplii from the floating shells before feeding; shells are indigestible.
