Bulldawg Reef Juice Clam Blend | Live Phytoplankton for Clams & Filter Feeders
Bulldawg Reef Juice Clam Blend is a fresh, refrigerator-stable multi-species live phytoplankton blend formulated specifically for the appetites of Tridacna clams and other filter feeders. Clams need a range of cell sizes and nutritional profiles — a single species rarely covers it. This blend mixes small, medium, and larger phyto species so giant clams, scallops, sponges, gorgonians, feather dusters, and NPS corals all get something to eat with every dose.
Local Georgia brand. Bulldawg is a Georgia-based reef supplement brand, and so are we — by stocking Bulldawg you're supporting a small local business right here in GA. Same state, same hobby, same goal: healthy reef tanks.
Available in 8 oz and 16 oz bottles — please select your preferred size from the variant options above.
Pickup Only — In-Store Only: This product is available for in-store pickup at Squeaky's Aquatics, 1885 Braselton Hwy, Suite D, Lawrenceville GA. Live phytoplankton is best handled locally for freshness. Please contact us before traveling to confirm availability.

- Multi-species blend — multiple phytoplankton species and cell sizes for complete filter-feeder nutrition
- Built for clams — formulated with Tridacna and Hippopus appetites in mind
- Also great for: sponges, gorgonians, NPS corals (sun corals, dendros, scolymias), feather dusters, scallops, copepods, and larval fish
- Rich in HUFAs and pigments — supports growth, mantle color, and tissue health
- Made in Georgia — supports a local small business; same state as Squeaky's Aquatics
- Saltwater reef use only
- Shake well before each use — phytoplankton settles in the bottle.
- Suggested dose: Start at 1 mL per 10 gallons daily. Tanks heavy with clams or NPS corals may dose 2x daily.
- Where to dose: Pour directly into a high-flow area near filter feeders, or target-feed clams and NPS corals with a turkey baster after diluting in tank water.
- Skimmer: Consider turning the protein skimmer off for 30–60 minutes after dosing to maximize uptake.
- For clams specifically: Smaller clams (under 3") are more dependent on phyto than larger ones (which get most of their nutrition from light). Dose consistently and watch mantle extension and color.
- Storage: Refrigerate immediately upon receiving. Keep tightly sealed. Do not freeze. Use within the freshness window on the bottle.

Why a "clam" blend?
Tridacnid clams are filter feeders that benefit from a mix of phyto cell sizes. A single-species phyto can leave gaps in their diet — a multi-species blend better matches what they'd encounter on a wild reef.
Will it benefit anything besides clams?
Yes — sponges, gorgonians, NPS corals (sun corals, dendros), feather dusters, scallops, and copepods all benefit. Filter-feeding fish like anthias also benefit indirectly through stronger pod populations.
How is this different from the Diatom Blend or Rhodomonas?
This is a multi-species blend covering a range of cell sizes and nutritional profiles. The Diatom Blend is golden-brown diatoms only; the Rhodomonas bottle is red phyto only. Many reefers run all three on rotation for the most complete coverage.
How do I store it?
Refrigerate as soon as you get home — never freeze. Keep the cap tight and shake well before each use.
Is it reef-safe?
Yes — it's designed for reef aquariums and won't harm corals, inverts, or fish at recommended doses.
