Aquaforest Magnesium 750g
Aquaforest Magnesium is a concentrated dry magnesium supplement for reef aquariums. Magnesium is essential to coral development and water chemistry: it lets calcium and alkalinity stay supersaturated and stable, so without enough of it you cannot hold proper calcium levels or pH. As a dry additive it is highly cost effective and, mixed into solution, performs as well as or better than liquid magnesium products.
Part of the Aquaforest reef range. Dose it alongside KH Buffer, Reef Mineral Salt, and Component Strong to keep your corals in balance.
Features
- Holds calcium and alkalinity. Magnesium keeps calcium and alkalinity supersaturated and stable.
- Essential for coral growth. The recommended reef range is 1180 to 1460 mg/L (ppm).
- Cost-effective dry format. Mixes into a solution that performs as well as or better than liquid additives.
- Combine and dose together. Can be mixed with Calcium or Reef Mineral Salt for single-pump dosing. Contains magnesium chloride.
How to Use
- Make a solution: dissolve 10 g of Magnesium in 1000 mL of RODI water.
- Test your water first and dose to your tank's magnesium demand and coral consumption.
- 100 mL of solution in 100 L of water raises magnesium by about 1.2 mg/L. Do not raise magnesium more than 50 ppm per day.
- Add the solution slowly to a high-flow area to reduce precipitation.
- For full ionic balance, also dose KH Buffer and Reef Mineral Salt.

FAQ
Why does my reef need magnesium?
It keeps calcium and alkalinity stable. Low magnesium makes it impossible to hold proper calcium levels and pH.
What level should I target?
1180 to 1460 mg/L (ppm) for a reef aquarium.
How do I prepare and dose it?
Dissolve 10 g in 1000 mL of RODI water, test your water, and dose to demand. Do not raise magnesium more than 50 ppm per day.
Can I combine it with other additives?
Yes. It can be mixed with Calcium or Reef Mineral Salt for single-pump dosing.
