Prodibio BioDigest
The Prodibio BioDigest is a concentrated blend of live nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria that runs the entire nitrogen cycle in your aquarium. Many complementary strains work together to break down fish waste, convert ammonia and nitrite, and drive nitrate and phosphate down toward zero in both freshwater and saltwater systems. It is Prodibio's flagship bacteria, equally at home cycling a brand-new tank or keeping an established one clean and stable. Pair it with the rest of our additives and supplements.
How It Works
A healthy aquarium depends on a deep, diverse bacteria colony living in your filter, rock, and substrate. BioDigest seeds that colony with a wide mix of heterotrophic and autotrophic strains. The first strains begin breaking down organic waste and converting ammonia, while others complete the chain all the way to nitrogen gas, which leaves the water naturally. Because the blend also consumes nitrate and phosphate, regular dosing keeps nutrients low, water clear, and filamentous algae in check. To speed up purification you do not increase the dose, you simply dose more often.

Can BioDigest cycle a brand-new tank?
Yes. It introduces the full range of bacteria a new tank needs. For extra protection from ammonia while the cycle establishes, add Stop Ammo or use the Start Up kit.
Will it lower my nitrate and phosphate?
Yes. The denitrifying strains drive nitrate toward nitrogen gas and the blend also helps reduce phosphate, which keeps algae in check.
How often should I dose?
Once every 15 days for maintenance. To speed up purification, dose more frequently rather than increasing the amount per dose.
Do the ampoules need refrigeration?
