Aquarium Co-Op Replacement Coarse Sponge for Easy Flow Sponge Filter
Sold in-store only. Visit us at 1885 Braselton Hwy, Suite D, Lawrenceville, GA.
A coarse replacement sponge for the Aquarium Co-Op Easy Flow sponge filters. Exactly the same sponge that ships on a new filter, sold on its own so you can swap one out rather than replace the whole unit. Keeping a spare on the shelf also means you can put a clean one straight on and take your time washing the old one.
Features
- Coarse, anti-clogging sponge. The open pore structure holds more debris before flow drops off, so it runs longer between cleans.
- Shipped full sized, not vacuum packed. Aquarium Co-Op do not compress these. Vacuum packing crushes the cell walls, and the sponge never fully recovers its shape or strength.
- A direct replacement. Identical to the sponge supplied with their filters, so nothing else needs changing.
- Fits most sponge filter bases. Not just Aquarium Co-Op ones. If you are running another brand, bring the base in and we will check it against the sizes.
- Keeps your bacteria. Swap one sponge at a time and rinse the old one in tank water rather than replacing both at once, and you will not lose the colony.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this on an intake instead?
Aquarium Co-Op point you at their closed end pre-filter sponges for that. These are open ended and made to sit on a sponge filter base.
Will it fit a different brand of sponge filter?
Usually. They are sized to the common standards. Bring the base in and we will check.
How often does a sponge need replacing?
Not often. Rinsed in tank water they last years. Replace one when it starts falling apart or will no longer rinse clean.
