Vitalis Cichlid Carnivore Pellets
Vitalis Cichlid Carnivore Pellets are a 47% protein soft pellet for the cichlids that eat fish, insects and crustaceans in the wild: peacocks and haps from Lake Malawi, Tanganyikan shell dwellers and Julidochromis, and the South American dwarfs like apistos and rams. Whole fish meal, squid, shrimp and mussel give a protein source these fish can actually digest, and the pellet sinks slowly so midwater cichlids feed naturally. For mbuna and other grazers use the Vitalis Cichlid Herbivore Pellets. See all freshwater dry foods.
Features
- 47.5% protein from whole fish meal, molluscs and crustaceans
- Soft, slow-sinking pellet that is easy to digest
- Natural pigments for the reds, blues and yellows of peacocks and haps
- Stable in water up to 24 hours with low leaching
- Two pellet sizes in resealable pots, made in the UK by World Feeds
Who it is for
Aulonocara peacocks, Malawi haps such as Protomelas, Nimbochromis and Copadichromis, Tanganyikans such as Julidochromis, Neolamprologus and shell dwellers, and South and Central American cichlids including apistogramma, rams, nannacara, laetacara and juvenile larger species.
Feeding Guide
Feed once or twice a day, only what is eaten in two minutes. Cichlids beg convincingly; keep them slightly hungry and they will color up and behave better. Fast one day a week for adult fish.
Choose Your Size

FAQ
Can I feed this to a mixed peacock and mbuna tank? Feed the Herbivore Pellets to the whole tank. Peacocks tolerate a lower protein diet far better than mbuna tolerate a high one.
Which size for a 2 inch peacock? 1mm until about 3 inches, then move to 4mm.
Will it make the water cloudy? No. Feed lightly and the pellets stay whole until eaten.
