Vitalis LPS Coral Pellets 1.5mm

Vitalis LPS Coral Pellets are a soft 1.5mm pellet sized for the mouths of large polyp stony corals. Acans, favia, duncans, blastos and scolys that get fed a real meal a couple of times a week grow faster and hold color better than corals living on light alone, and a pellet that sinks and holds together is far easier to target feed than a liquid that drifts into the overflow. Feeding Guide

Feed after lights out or an hour before, when feeder tentacles are extended. Turn the pumps down, drop a few pellets onto each polyp with a pipette or turkey baster, and wait ten minutes before restoring flow so the coral can close over them. One to three feedings a week is plenty; if fish steal the food, feed them first on the far side of the tank.

FAQ

Do my LPS really need feeding? They survive on light, but fed corals grow noticeably faster and color up better. Once or twice a week is enough to see the difference.

Will it raise my nitrate? Target feeding a few pellets adds far less than broadcast feeding a liquid. Keep up normal water changes and you will not notice it.

Can I broadcast feed it? You can, but most of it will feed the fish. Target feeding puts the food where it counts.
