ZooMed Aquatic Frog & Tadpole Food
ZooMed Aquatic Frog & Tadpole Food is a high-protein sinking micro pellet made for fully aquatic frogs and tadpoles. The tiny pellets drop straight to the bottom where African dwarf frogs and clawed frogs actually hunt, so they get a complete meal instead of watching flakes drift past. With 50 percent crude protein from fish meal, it supports growth in tadpoles and healthy weight and color in adult frogs. Feeding the African dwarf frogs we keep in store? This is the staple we recommend, and you can round out the diet from our full fish and aquatic food range.
Why It Works for Frogs
- Sinks fast. Micro pellets reach the substrate quickly, where bottom-feeding aquatic frogs forage.
- High protein. 50 percent crude protein, with fish meal as the first ingredient, for a carnivore-appropriate diet.
- Sized for small mouths. Fine pellets suit dwarf frogs and growing tadpoles without breaking up into mush.
- Complete nutrition. Fortified with vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C and vitamin E, to support long-term health.
- Made for every aquatic frog. Suitable for all types of aquatic frogs and tadpoles.
Feeding Guide
Feed once or twice a day, offering only what your frogs will finish within a few minutes. Aquatic frogs are near-sighted and find food by scent and touch, so drop the pellets close to them and give them a moment to find it. Remove any uneaten food to keep water quality high. Growing tadpoles do best with small, frequent feedings. For variety, alternate with frozen bloodworms a few times a week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my frogs find it? Yes. The pellets sink right to the bottom where aquatic frogs feed. Drop them near the frogs, since they hunt by scent and touch rather than sight.
Can I use it as the only food? It is a complete staple, but most keepers add frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp a few times a week for variety and enrichment.
Is it good for tadpoles? Yes. The small pellet size and high protein suit growing tadpoles. Feed small amounts more often.
Will it cloud my water? Not when fed correctly. Feed only what is eaten in a few minutes and remove any leftovers.
