Fluval AC70/110 Active Carbon Insert
The Fluval AquaClear Active Carbon Insert is premium activated carbon that keeps aquarium water clean and crystal clear. Its highly porous surface adsorbs odors, discoloration, and dissolved organic toxins, so your tank stays fresh and your fish stay healthy. Sized for the AquaClear 70 and 110 filters, it works in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and comes as a single insert or a value 3-pack.
Slide it into your AquaClear (AC) power filter after the foam and biological media. Want phosphate and nitrate control too? Step up to Clear-Carb. Pair it with BioMax for biological filtration, and find more media in our Filter Media & Cartridges collection.
Features

How to Use
Rinse the insert under running water, then place it in the media basket of your AquaClear 70 or 110 filter, after the mechanical foam. Carbon has a finite capacity, so replace it about every 3 to 4 weeks to keep it adsorbing effectively. It is also perfect for pulling leftover medication out of the water once a treatment is finished.

FAQ
What does activated carbon do? It adsorbs dissolved impurities such as odors, yellow tannin discoloration, and organic toxins, keeping your water clear and fresh.
How often should I replace it? Every 3 to 4 weeks. Carbon fills up over time, so swapping on schedule keeps it working.
What is the difference from Clear-Carb? Active Carbon is straight activated carbon. Clear-Carb adds ClearMax resin to also pull out phosphate, nitrite, and nitrate.
Can I use it in saltwater? Yes. Activated carbon works in both freshwater and marine aquariums.
