Drop it into the sock tray, plug in the V2 smart controller and forget about socks: as the fleece loads with waste and the water level creeps up, the magnetic optical sensor tells the geared motor to advance a fresh section, and the dirty fleece rolls up out of the water before it can break down into nutrients. How It Works

Water from the drain flows onto the fleece the same way it would into a sock. As the fleece clogs, the water level in the tray rises until it reaches the optical sensor, which starts the 12 V geared motor for a few seconds. Clean fleece rolls into the flow path, the level drops, and the motor stops. Swapping a spent roll takes a minute: lift the body, drop in a new roll, thread it and set it back in the tray.

FAQ

Will it fit my sump? If your sump has a 7 inch sock tray with 1.5 inches of water above it and about 8 inches of clearance below, yes. Measure the lid opening too; it needs 7.125 inches directly above the tray. Sumps without a tray can use the Klir bracket.

How long does a roll last? Anywhere from several weeks to a few months. Heavy feeding, high bioload and a sandbed that gets stirred all shorten it; a lightly stocked reef stretches it.

What happens if the power goes out? The fleece stops advancing but water keeps flowing through the last clean section. If the fleece fully clogs, the water overflows the tray into the sump the way a clogged sock would, so nothing floods.

Is it noisy? The motor runs for only a few seconds at a time. Most owners hear the drain, not the Klir.
