Loc-Line In-Line Valves
Loc-Line In-Line Valves snap into any matching Loc-Line run and give you quarter turn flow control right where you need it. Balance two return nozzles off one pump, dial back flow over a fragile coral, or shut a line down for feeding time without ever touching the pump. Available for both the 1/2" and 3/4" Loc-Line systems, and a perfect partner for our Loc-Line 3/4" Nozzles.
Why an In-Line Valve
Most return pumps feed more than one outlet, and the flow never splits evenly on its own. An in-line valve in each branch lets you tune every nozzle independently, so the high side stops blasting sand around while the low side finally gets real flow. The valve body and stem are molded from the same saltwater resistant acetal copolymer as the rest of the Loc-Line system, with a nitrile stem seal, and the ball-and-socket ends snap straight into hose segments, nozzles, and connectors.
Choose Your Size
| Valve | SKU | Fits |
|---|---|---|
| 1/2" In-Line Valve | LOC69854 | 1/2" hose ID Loc-Line systems, the common size on nano and mid-size tank returns |
| 3/4" In-Line Valve | LOC69558 | 3/4" hose ID Loc-Line systems, the standard on larger reef returns and manifolds |
How to Use
- Snap the valve in anywhere along the run: right at the bulkhead, mid-line, or just before the nozzle. Our Loc-Line Assembly Pliers make seating the joints painless.
- A quarter turn takes the line from full flow to fully closed, with every position in between.
- Close a branch during feeding so food stays in front of your fish, then open it back up after.
- These are low-pressure valves built for aquarium return plumbing, not for pressurized household lines.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which size do I need? Match the valve to your hose ID: 1/2" valves for the 1/2" system, 3/4" valves for the 3/4" system. The two sizes do not snap together directly, so check your segments before ordering.
Can I fully shut off a return line with it? Yes, a quarter turn closes the line completely. Just make sure your pump always has at least one open path so it is never running dead-headed.
Will throttling a valve hurt my pump? Partially closing a line adds back pressure, which centrifugal aquarium pumps tolerate well. With a DC pump like the ReefRun you can also drop the pump speed and use the valves just for balancing branches.
What is the difference between this and the NPT valve? This valve has ball-and-socket ends and splices into the middle of a run. The NPT valve has a threaded end that screws into a pump outlet or bulkhead to start the run with flow control built in.
